UPDATE: Rosneft CEO fails to come to court interrogation for 2nd time

MOSCOW, Nov 15 (PRIME) -- CEO of Russian oil major Rosneft Igor Sechin did not arrive to a court interrogation under a U.S. $2 million bribery case against former Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev, the judge said on Wednesday.

“Summons has been sent to the witnesses, it is unknown whether Sechin has received it,” the judge said.

Spokesman for Rosneft Mikhail Leontyev said that Sechin is on a business trip. “He is on a scheduled business trip.” He said that the schedule of the executive can be shared only with the authorized officials.

Sechin did not attend a court interrogation on Monday, after that the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow sent its summons for the second time.

The lawyer of Ulyukayev asked the court to resend the notification, which the court did. The next interrogation is scheduled for November 22.

Ulyukayev, the first government official arrested on suspicions of corruption, can face 15 years in prison if his guilt is proved. He pleaded not guilty in August and said it was a setup organized by Sechin and the Federal Security Service.
